The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated the Argentina’s team 4 goals to 2 in the international friendlies.
The match which started with the Nigerian team using the 5-3-2 formation with: Akpeyi, Shehu, Troost-Ekong, Balogun, Awaziem, Aina, Wilfred Ndidi, Mikel, Ogu, Iwobi and Iheanacho in the starting line-up and Ezenwa, Uzoho, Uche, Musa, Etebo, Kayode, Onyekuru, Nwakali, Ebuehi, Tony Nwakaeme as substitution while the Argentines’ team with had their 3-3-3-1 formation with: Marchesin, Mascherano, Pezzella, Otamendi, Banega, Perez, Lo Celso, Pavon, Dybala, Di Maria, and Aguero as the starting 11 while they had Romero, Guzman, Mammana, Fazio, Paredes, Insua, Benedetto, Matias Kranevitter, Ansaldi, Perotti, Salvio, Gomez, Rigoni and Belluschi for substitution.
The match started with the Argentines’ team gaining possession in the early minutes and there by converting to their first goal in the 28th minute from Ever Benega who scored from the free kick to put Argentina ahead.
In the 36th minute, Sergio Agüero taps home Pavó’s cross to double the Argentines’ lead. 9 minute later, Nigeria reduce the tally as Iheanacho scores from the free kick. And the game ended with the Argentines’ leading with a 2 goals to 1.
The second half started, and in the 52nd minute, Alex Iwobi levels for the Eagles and Brian Idowu puts Nigeria ahead for the first time in the 54th minute.
IWOBI smashes home from Musa’s pass to put more misery on Argentina in the 72nd minute to the Eagles on a 4 – 2 victory.
