The federal high court in Lagos has sentenced the former Abia State governor, Orji Uzor Kalu to 12 years imprisonment.
The federal high court in Lagos has sentenced the former Abia State governor, Orji Uzor Kalu to 12 years imprisonment over N7.1bn fraud.
Orji Uzor Kalu was found guilty on the 39-count charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC).
He was convicted of the fraud perpetuated when he was Abia State governor between 1999 and 2007.
Kalu’s firm, Slok Nigeria Limited, and his former Abia State director of finance, Ude Udeogu, was also convicted too.
